Installing Your FeedaCONE

Correct installation ensures your FeedaCONE fits securely while still allowing it to be removed easily by hand for future maintenance.

The fitting process is straightforward and only requires a few basic tools.

Before You Begin

You’ll Need:

FeedaCONE attachment

3 × No.8 Pozi Pan Head stainless steel self-tapping screws (supplied)

Electric drill

3mm drill bit

Hole saw (if fitting to a new hopper)

Step 1

Prepare the Hopper

If replacing an existing feeder spring, remove the spring from the hopper.

If fitting to a new feeder, drill an opening between 38mm and 76mm in the base of the hopper.

Step 2

Position the FeedaCONE

Place the FeedaCONE over the opening in the base of the hopper.

Using the three pilot holes near the narrow end of the slots as a guide, drill three 3mm holes through the hopper base.

Hold the FeedaCONE firmly in position while drilling to ensure accurate alignment.

Step 3

Fit the Retaining Screws

Secure the FeedaCONE using the three supplied No.8 Pozi Pan Head stainless steel self-tapping screws.

Do not fully tighten the screws at this stage.

Step 4

Adjust the Fit

Position the FeedaCONE over the screw heads and rotate it until it aligns with the raised adjustment pads.

Gradually tighten each screw until light, even resistance is felt against all three pads.

Avoid overtightening.

Step 5

Check the Movement

Rotate the FeedaCONE to the end of the slots.

The attachment should feel slightly loose. This is intentional and allows the FeedaCONE to be removed by hand for future cleaning and maintenance without the need for tools.

Additional Notes

Deer or Badger Activity

If your feeders are located in areas where deer or badgers regularly disturb them, you may wish to tighten the FeedaCONE more firmly against the hopper to help reduce feed loss.
